Salary: R20,000 R25,000 (Live-In) Kendrick Recruitment is searching for an experienced and hands-on Lodge Manager to take the reins of an intimate, luxury 5-star safari lodge in the heart of KwaZulu-Natal. This exclusive camp hosts just 10 guests and is supported by a dedicated team of 22 staff, offering a truly personalised and high-touch guest experience. A stand-alone one-bedroom managers house is included as part of the package. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a boutique lodge environment, leads from the front, and has a genuine passion for delivering unforgettable safari experiences. Key Responsibilities: * Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the lodge, including guest services, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance * Leading, mentoring, and motivating a close-knit team to deliver exceptional 5-star service * Ensuring all health, safety, and quality standards are consistently met * Managing budgets, cost control, and financial reporting * Maintaining outstanding guest satisfaction and handling feedback or concerns with professionalism and care * Coordinating staff rosters, schedules, and ongoing training programmes * Fostering a positive team culture and encouraging collaboration across departments * Liaising with suppliers, contractors, and external stakeholders * Monitoring and maintaining lodge facilities, equipment, and vehicles Requirements: * Senior management experience within a 5-star lodge or luxury hospitality environment * Previous experience managing a small luxury lodge or boutique property (highly advantageous) * Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills * Sound financial understanding with experience in budget and cost management * Ability to remain calm under pressure and problem-solve effectively * Excellent interpersonal skills with confidence engaging high-end, international guests * Immaculate presentation and a professional demeanour * Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays The Package: * Competitive salary depending on experience * Live-in position with a private one-bedroom house * Opportunity to manage an exclusive, low-occupancy 5-star safari lodge with a high-performing team ?
