About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Stock Controller to join our team at Route Management in Cape Town. As a key link between Purchasing, Operations and Warehouse functions, you will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, movements, locations and strategic use of space and processes. Your primary objective will be to continually reduce the number of stock losses, write offs and customer/supplier stock queries year on year.
Key Responsibilities
- Compare items received against items ordered and ensure incoming stock is receipted and managed appropriately.
- Carry out periodic reviews of outgoing orders to ensure accuracy of shipments and respective stock records.
- Ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are investigated, addressed and resolved.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all stock.
- Help develop the company’s stock management strategy with the aim of reducing losses and obsolete stock, rationalising inventory, and maximizing available space.
- Work with the warehouse management to ensure proper arrangement of stock to allow for optimum efficiency/organisation.
- Perform process and system testing to locate and solve problems in data integrity.
- Be responsible for managing and running planned stock takes.
- Perform cyclic stock checks.
- Minimise and removal of obsolete stock.
