About the Role

Network Finance is seeking an experienced Intermediate/Senior Java Developer to join our team in Pretoria East. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing Java-based applications and services across complex systems. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborate with a talented team, and further develop your expertise in modern backend and frontend technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications and services across complex systems.
  • Lead design and implementation of scalable, efficient, and secure software solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues while ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and to specification.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance on best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes to maintain high coding standards.
  • Support integration of applications with databases, APIs, and third-party systems.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline management and automation using Bamboo or similar tools.
  • Optimize PostgreSQL databases and maintain Linux-based application environments.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years’ experience in software development with Java and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript (Node.js, Angular, TypeScript), HTML & CSS.
  • Experience with WildFly, Bamboo, and Linux environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects and resolving production issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with backend and frontend frameworks including Node.js and Angular.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and database optimization techniques.
  • Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and general computing fundamentals.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
