As a result of an awarded major project in Namibia, the client is seeking a motivated Construction Supervisor Civil to join on site project team on 6:2 roster
About the role
- Under supervision from the Site Superintendent, develop and regularly maintain, overall project schedules, budgets and target deliverables to a consistently high standard
- Report any changes immediately to the Site Superintendent and assist to ensure projects are completed to time, quality and budget targets and comply with the Projects risk framework
- Carry out assigned project activities in a manner that prioritises safety, environment, community and industrial relations
- In line with the project procurement procedure, carry out, as directed reviews and or inspection of suppliers facilities and progress, prior to and or during procurement
- Undertake investigation and prepare reports as directed by the Senior general Supervisor
- Effectively interact with team members and stakeholders at project level
- Manage and or supervise junior members of the project team in compliance with applicable project specific requirements and current industry work codes and standards
- Advise the Site Superintendent immediately on matters that negatively affect the project goals
- Advise the Project Director immediately of any safety or environmental incidents
- Provide assistance to the Site Superintendent as required.
About you
- Engineering or technical degree in Civil construction is preferred
- Minimum of 10+ years in a similar role in mining projects is a must
- Experience as a supervisor of earthworks and civil works (concrete works)
- Experience in auditing contractor compliance with quality and safety systems
- Proven ability to supervise, motivate and influence employees at all levels,
- Knowledge of construction methods and quality assurance of earthworks, concrete structures, sanitary and utility installations. Desirable but not required experience in structural steel installation and engineering design.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schedules, specifications, and other construction/engineering documents.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiar with permit-to-work systems, QA processes, and safety regulations.
