About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Staff member to join our team at The Talent Room in Gauteng. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, maintaining a clean environment, and ensuring seamless service delivery during peak periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation, including chopping, washing, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment in line with health and safety standards.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as required.
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and stock rotation (FIFO).
- Assist chefs with cooking and plating during peak periods.
- Monitor and restock kitchen supplies when needed.
- Dispose of waste safely and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment (advantageous but not always required).
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene.
