About the Role

Isilumko Staffing is seeking an experienced Applications Manager to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical oversight and governance to applications, managing release trains, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive business value and risk reduction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage release trains and ensure timely delivery of application updates
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Release Train Engineers, and Lean Service Management Leads to clarify business value and technology impacts
  • Define release strategy for large technology changes
  • Negotiate capacity allocation for local context technical deliverables
  • Facilitate early prioritization for technology portfolio backlog
  • Identify enabler epics to automate compliance and non-functional requirements
  • Participate in Joint Business Prioritization process and ensure technical epics and features are ranked correctly in the backlog

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in managing software development and support teams
  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • Demonstratable experience regarding enterprise application ownership
  • Experience on legacy systems is beneficial

Qualifications

  • Appropriate technical post-matric 3-year qualification in Information Systems or Engineering
  • Management training is essential
