About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Cape Town City Centre, with a strong focus on building services. As a key member of our project leadership team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality mechanical design drawings, reports, and specifications, while also coordinating with multidisciplinary teams throughout project lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

Produce mechanical design drawings, reports, and specifications
Perform heat load and design calculations in line with recognised standards
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout project lifecycles
Support senior project leadership and manage small technical teams
Lead projects from concept, design, tender, and construction to commissioning
Attend client, consultant, and site meetings
Work independently while contributing to team objectives

Requirements

Strong HVAC design experience, particularly chilled water systems
Knowledge of wet services; fire services experience advantageous
Proven project management and coordination skills
Technical report writing, cost estimating, and fee proposal preparation
Experience with tender documentation, specifications, and BOQs
Understanding of construction contracts and site processes
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, HAP, and MS Office

Qualifications

BTech/ BEng in Mechanical Engineering
Professionally registered or eligible for registration
