About the Role

Hire Resolve is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Settlement Officer to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our client’s operations, you will play a critical role in managing and coordinating the settlement process for various financial transactions. Your expertise and attention to detail will ensure the smooth and timely settlement of trades and transactions, ensuring our clients’ needs are met with precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the settlement process for various financial transactions, including equities, bonds, and derivatives.
  • Conduct due diligence on transaction details, documentation, and counterparties.
  • Coordinate fund transfers and ensure timely settlement of trades and transactions.
  • Monitor and reconcile settlement instructions with counterparties and clearinghouses.
  • Resolve settlement-related issues, discrepancies, and failed trades.
  • Communicate with internal teams, external counterparties, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and efficient settlement processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of settlement activities.
  • Stay current with industry regulations, market practices, and technological advancements in settlement systems.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new settlement processes and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in settlement operations or a similar role within the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of settlement procedures, market practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of securities and financial instruments.
