About the Role
The candidate will be working under the direction of the Head Accountant and coordinate the daily activities of the accounting staff to quickly and accurately record the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of the Company and other entities. This is a key role in maintaining the financial health and stability of our private sector client.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysing trial balance accounts identifying errors and raising journals.
- Balance sheet and nominal accounts reconciliations.
- Maintaining an organised set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions.
- Resolving complex accounting issues.
- Preparing annual financial statements, audit files and ad hoc financial reports.
- Supervising, directing, and reviewing the work of the accounting staff.
- Monthly Payroll review, oversight and submission of SARS returns.
- Monthly VAT review, oversight and submission of SARS returns.
- COIDA (Workmen’s Compensation Return of Earnings submissions).
- Calculations and completion of Provisional and Income Tax Returns, E-filing Administration, submitting supporting documents.
- Preparing, analysing, interpreting & presenting of management statements.
- Compiling Budgets and Forecasts.
- Compiling and monitoring of cash flow.
Requirements
- 3 years experience in accounting or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Certification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) is an asset.
