About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a highly creative and talented Fashion Designer to join their dynamic team in the clothing industry in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating innovative designs for our women’s clothing line, working closely with pattern makers and overseeing production processes to ensure quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Research current fashion trends and translate them into marketable designs
- Develop new design concepts and original fashion-forward pieces
- Create detailed sketches or computer-aided designs of clothing items
- Select fabrics, colors, and trimmings for each collection
- Work closely with pattern makers to bring designs to life
- Oversee the production process to ensure quality and accuracy
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the fashion industry
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create cohesive branding and promotional materials
- Communicate, energize, and inspire our teams of Buyers, Planners, and Merchandise leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fashion design, in the clothing industry
- Strong portfolio showcasing original designs and creative thinking
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Excellent knowledge of textiles, patterns, and garment construction
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Passion for fashion and a keen eye for detail
Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field
