About the Role
Zeebra Junction Specialist Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Manager to oversee daily operations of our exclusive safari lodge in Uganda’s Impenetrable Forest. As a renowned gorilla tracking destination, our lodge caters to high-end clientele from American, European, and Asian markets, offering exceptional service and an outstanding fine dining experience. We invite passionate and experienced hospitality professionals to join our team and contribute to creating unforgettable luxury safari experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the lodge, ensuring the highest standards of guest service and satisfaction.
- Manage all departments including front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, and maintenance.
- Coordinate and supervise gorilla tracking activities and other guest experiences.
- Ensure seamless communication between departments to provide a cohesive and efficient service.
- Maintain high levels of staff morale and foster a positive working environment.
- Implement and uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Monitor financial performance, including budget management and cost control.
- Liaise with international tour operators and travel agents to promote the lodge and drive bookings.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract and retain guests.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Formal Hospitality / Hotel Management Degree / Diploma or similar Business Management qualification from a recognised institution.
- Proven experience in managing very high-end safari lodges or luxury Boutique Hotels.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of hospitality industry best practices and standards.
- Familiarity with remote location operations and challenges.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable guest experiences.
- Financial acumen and experience in budget management.
Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or similar Business Management qualification from a recognised institution.
