About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Import Controller to manage and oversee all import operations. The successful candidate will ensure that goods are imported efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all import documentation and shipping processes.
- Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and clearing agents to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor shipment progress and resolve any delays or discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with SARS customs requirements and import regulations.
- Manage costings, shipping schedules, and landed cost calculations.
- Maintain accurate records of all import transactions.
- Prepare regular import status reports for management.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (a qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field is an advantage).
- Minimum of 23 years experience in import control or logistics coordination.
- Strong knowledge of incoterms, customs procedures, and import documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
