About the Role
Work Africa is seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our team in East London. As an Accountant in our Manufacturing Industry, you will be responsible for preparing and posting standard journals for monthly management accounts, controlling foreign creditors and import documentation, and assisting with creditors as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post standard journals for monthly management accounts
- Foreign creditors and import documentation control
- Assist with creditors when required
- Prepare VAT return and reconcile it
- Confirm inter-company balances with other branches
- Prepare tax pack and upload on one source
- Prepare SMART pack and Upload financial statements on Hyperion on a monthly basis
- Reconcile all ledger accounts using MS Excel by the 10th working day of the new month
- Monthly Waste reports
- Treasury schedules
- Capex submissions
- Assist with internal/external audits
- Upload budget (yearly) and forecast (quarterly) onto HYPERION and prepare statutory notes on HYPERION
- Perform any other ad hoc duties that may be required
Requirements
- Have a BCom Degree or BTech in Financial Accounting
- Completed articles
- AGA (SA) registered through SAICA / CIMA Qualification would be advantageous
- Strong IT knowledge would be an added advantage
- Strong communications in Xhosa and English
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Must have a valid drivers licence
Qualifications
- BCom Degree or BTech in Financial Accounting
- Completed articles
- AGA (SA) registered through SAICA / CIMA Qualification
- Strong IT knowledge
