About the Role
The Maintenance Manager is a key position in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel’s infrastructure, equipment, and facilities. As a seasoned professional with extensive experience in maintenance management or technical supervisory roles, you will oversee all maintenance, repair, and upkeep activities across the property, leading a team of technicians and contractors to achieve optimal results.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems
- Oversee daily maintenance activities and assign tasks to maintenance staff
- Implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce breakdowns
- Monitor performance and condition of generators, boilers, water systems, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and other critical machinery
- Ensure proper maintenance of lighting, security systems, and workplace infrastructure
Requirements
- 35+ years experience in maintenance management or technical supervisory role
- Proven experience managing a team and handling contractor relationships
- Strong technical knowledge (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC)
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
Qualifications
- National Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (advantageous)
- Trade Test (Electrician, Plumber, Fitter, Millwright) preferred
- Health C Safety Certification (e.g., SAMTRAC, NOSA) is an advantage
