About the Role

A permanent Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is required to join a technical leadership team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity and reliability of all mechanical assets across the plant, including furnaces, rolling equipment, melt shop equipment, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and heavy mechanical machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability, integrity and reliability of all mechanical assets across the plant
• Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot complex problems with mechanical systems
• Collaborate with the technical leadership team to implement process improvements

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in the steel manufacturing sector (iron making, steelmaking, rolling mills, heavy industrial mechanical maintenance or similar)
• Bachelor’s degree / National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (BEng / BTech / National Diploma)

Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor’s degree / National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Salary & Benefits
