About the Role
Our client in the FMCG Industry is currently looking to employ a Quality Assurance Officer / Quality Systems Coordinator based in Humansdorp. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving Quality Management Systems, ensuring compliance with food safety and code requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and continuously improve Quality Management Systems, ensuring compliance with food safety and code requirements.
- Identify gaps in quality systems and issue non-conformances for deviations.
- Assist in developing and maintaining HACCP plans for all product types.
- Compile and update product specifications.
- Support audit preparation and participate as part of the audit team during food safety audits.
- Assist the Systems Compliance Manager with pathogen and non-pathogen environmental monitoring programmes.
- Conduct in-house training and environmental awareness sessions.
- Attend and contribute to monthly quality meetings.
- Perform regular housekeeping inspections and issue non-conformances for non-compliance.
- Assist with internal audits and mock recalls.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Company’s Environmental System.
- Assist with preparation for environmental audits.
Requirements
- Matric / National Senior Certificate
- Food Science-related degree or diploma
- Minimum 2 years experience in the food manufacturing industry
- Proven experience in quality system implementation and maintenance
- Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within regulated environments
- A valid and unendorsed drivers license is mandatory.
