About the Role

SA Metal is seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven diesel mechanic to join our Truck Workshop department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for attending to breakdowns, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining our fleet and equipment in a fast-paced and pressurized environment. Our comprehensive technical facilities are staffed by qualified engineers and artisans, ensuring the highest standards of quality control and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Quality control
Attend breakdowns
Troubleshoot fleet breakdowns
Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on the fleet

Requirements

Red Seal Diesel Mechanic Qualification
Minimum of 5 years post qualification working experience
Experience in truck and trailer maintenance
Experience with plant machinery is an advantage
Experience with Volvo and UD trucks is an advantage
Have a valid code 8 driver’s license and a reliable motor vehicle

Qualifications

Red Seal Diesel Mechanic Qualification
Matric or equivalent (if applicable)
