About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Business Development Manager Chemicals & Fuel (Warehousing) to join their team in Johannesburg. As a key member of the team, you will drive high-value contract wins in the chemical and fuel logistics sector, with a focus on warehousing solutions. With significant travel expectations, this role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate complex stakeholder relationships and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Close new warehousing deals with high-volume chemical and fuel clients, targeting R100 million in new contract revenue within the first year
  • Manage the complete business development lifecycle from lead generation through to contract finalisation
  • Handover operational execution to regional teams after successful contract closure
  • Support the expansion of warehousing facilities in Cape Town and Durban, replicating existing models by Q4 2025
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and build long-term strategic client relationships

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years experience in chemical and/or fuel logistics, specifically with warehousing or storage infrastructure
  • Proven track record in securing large, high-value B2B contracts
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to engage and negotiate with executive-level stakeholders
  • Independent, self-driven, and comfortable with a high national travel load
  • Background in companies offering specialised chemical or fuel warehousing services will be advantageous
