About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and SACPCMP-registered Safety Officer with 10 or more years of proven experience in occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management. The ideal candidate must be a certified Fall Protection Planner and demonstrate solid environmental compliance knowledge and implementation within high-risk working environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and company procedures.
- Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific SHE plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Oversee and enforce fall protection protocols and procedures in line with national standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and toolbox talks.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
- Compile and submit SACPCMP documentation and reports as required.
- Liaise with relevant authorities, contractors, and stakeholders on HSE matters.
- Deliver safety induction and training sessions.
- Monitor environmental compliance and assist in the implementation of environmental management plans (EMPs).
Requirements
- SACPCMP registration as a Safety Officer (mandatory)
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience in a safety role
- Certified Fall Protection Planner (proof of certification required)
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance
- SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or equivalent safety qualification
- Valid drivers license and own reliable transport
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
