About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Technician to join our team at a renowned packaging company based in East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical and instrumentation maintenance on production machinery, as well as installing, repairing, and calibrating sensors, PLCs, drives, and automated systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and instrumentation maintenance on production machinery.
- Install, repair, and calibrate sensors, PLCs, drives, and automated systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns with minimal downtime.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure plant efficiency.
- Assist with control system upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with the OHS ACT, company safety protocols and electrical standards.
Requirements
- Trade Tested Electrician with an Instrumentation specialization (Red Seal preferred).
- N6 in Electrical Engineering preferable.
- Minimum 5 years post-trade experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Solid knowledge of PLC programming and fault finding (preferably Siemens, Allen Bradley, ABB).
- Delta, Mitsubishi, Schneider, B&R, Bosch Rexroth.
- Proficient in electrical fault-finding, panel wiring, and motor control systems.
- Familiarity with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and SCADA systems is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Completed Trade Tested Electrician course with Instrumentation specialization.
- N6 certificate in Electrical Engineering preferred.
