About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Buyer to join our team at Durpro Workforce Solutions in Durban. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality services, products, and materials while building strong relationships with suppliers. Your goal will be to drive cost reduction, improve delivery times, and ensure that we meet our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Research and select quality services, products, and materials
Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate best pricing
Process requisitions and update management on order status
Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stores as required
Source service vendors from base suppliers where possible
Select the best supplier in terms of cost, quality, delivery, payment terms, rebate structures, and strategic direction
Ensure that negotiation reflects an understanding of price, quality, and service delivery
Weekly review of open purchase orders and mitigate any risks
Cancellation of purchase orders when all avenues are explored
Delivery status check daily
Notify stakeholders by 10h00 if a delay has occurred

Requirements

High-level usage of Business Central
Understanding of procurement requirements and the supply chain strategy’s impact on the business
Demand forecasting/trend analysis
Microsoft Excel (advanced) or very computer literate
Formal education in procurement or supply chain
Active involvement in the business and understanding of each department

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field
