Overview :
My Client a Construction Company in Uganda provides comprehensive construction solutions, specializing in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Their state-of-the-art facilities boast modern equipment and skilled personnel, ensuring efficient and high-quality construction services. From planning to execution, they deliver excellence in every aspect of the construction process. My client is urgently recruiting for a Quality / QC Manager
Qualifications:
- Tertiary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or similar, with associated tertiary training (e.g., Concrete Technology).
- Trained in ISO9001:2019 Management System.
- Ideally, 10 years or more experience on civil construction projects.
- Leadership qualities with experience in managing a team of QA supervisors and technicians.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities: As the QA/QC Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing QA/QC personnel and ensuring all measuring and test equipment are in valid calibration status.
- Implementing project-specific quality systems and monitoring their effective use.
- Representing EXCEL-TERRAIN on quality issues before clients or their representatives.
- Coordinating inspections and testing in accordance with quality control procedures and inspection/test plans.
- Handling all matters relating to nonconformance and maintaining inspection records.
- Participating in project management meetings on issues related to the project quality system.
- Issuing monthly QA/QC reports within the first week of the following month.
Project Quality Management System: You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that processes needed for the QMS are defined and compliant with client and contractual requirements.
- Communicating and promoting customer requirements throughout the project.
- Monitoring and verifying compliance with the established QMS.
- Planning and conducting internal audits applicable to the full scope of the project, including lower-tier subcontractors.
- Reviewing audit results and ensuring timely action to address non-conformances.
Improvement: You will:
- Review customer feedback or complaints and ensure timely action.
- Identify opportunities for QMS improvement and propose them to project management.
Communication: You will:
- Engage with clients through meetings or other means of communication on aspects relating to subcontractor QMS effectiveness.
- Provide feedback to project management on project QMS performance.
