About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary and innovative team, you will work closely with various stakeholders to deliver accurate civil designs for complex projects. With 7+ years of postgraduate experience in a similar position, you will be responsible for managing complex civil scopes, interpreting survey data, and performing engineering design calculations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate civil designs for earthworks, roads, buried services, and stormwater systems
• Interpret survey data and use it to inform design decisions
• Perform accurate engineering design and calculations
• Interpreting engineering drawings, documents, specifications, and scopes
• Identify scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordingly
• Coordinating technical aspects of the design with interdisciplinary teams
• Managing design and drafting resources to achieve agreed deliverable dates and man-hour budgets
• Developing technical documentation, including scopes of work and specifications using relevant industry standards and guidelines
• Providing accurate material take-offs as and when required
• Assisting with the delivery of engineering documentation in relation to scope, quantities, cost, and schedule
• Registering and filing all relevant engineering documentation in accordance with company-approved procedures

Requirements

• University Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution
• 7+ years’ postgraduate experience in a similar position
• Registered ECSA Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist
• South African citizen or Permanent Resident
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues across all business units
• Driven and determined to achieve objectives through continued professional development
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment
• Demonstrated ability to achieve consistently high standards within both budgetary and schedule constraints
