About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Electronics Technician to support the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of our wildlife telemetry and IoT devices in Pretoria. The role requires strong practical electronics skills, a methodical approach to both technical tasks and related administrative processes, and the ability to assist the Head Technician with production documentation and internal workflow management.
Key Responsibilities
• Assemble telemetry hardware according to production standards.
• Perform accurate soldering and component placement.
• Conduct functional and performance tests on outgoing and returned units.
• Identify faults, troubleshoot failures, and perform necessary repairs.
• Maintain comprehensive records of build processes, test results, and unit modifications.
• Draft detailed reports for returned units to support client communications.
• Support the Head Technician with production planning, tracking, and inventory updates.
• Help implement improvements to technical workflows and internal systems.
• Work closely with operations, engineering, and assembly staff to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and assist with R&D activities where relevant.
Requirements
Technical diploma or certification in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Proven experience with electronics assembly, soldering, and hardware testing.
Competence with diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
