About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies, a leading pharmacy chain in South Africa, is seeking a Retail Store Assistant to join our team at Die Boord store in Stellenbosch. As a key member of our retail operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of our store. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with the overall management of the store, focusing on operational and administrative duties as per our standard policy and procedure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and report all customer complaints and compliments to management.
- Establish professional relationships with customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure all customer stock queries are dealt with and resolved in a timely manner.
- Maintain effective external communication with customers when they require feedback.
- Assist customers with any enquiries and refer them to the appropriate departments where applicable.
- Adhere to the customer turnover per hour rate as per company benchmark.
- Manage the shorts and overs at the point of sale, including the floats.
- Manage refund and return transactions.
- Ensure that back shopping and returned goods are handled correctly.
- Verify and review deliveries and invoices for total accuracy.
- Assist the Receiving Manager in preparing and logging Distribution Centre claims on the Distribution Centre claims system.
- Manage and control high-risk stock.
- Prepare the run reconciliation on a daily basis.
- Prepare, order, and receive branch change requirements to ensure cashiers have enough change for excellent customer service levels.
Requirements
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- SAP knowledge.
- Retail experience.

- Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
- No formal education or certifications mentioned.
