Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and update tax policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
- Prepare and submit tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax filings.
- Conduct regular audits and internal reviews to identify any potential tax issues or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants to address any tax-related inquiries or concerns.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and provide recommendations on how they may impact our organization.
- Assist with developing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax savings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all tax transactions and filings.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on tax compliance issues and best practices.
- Respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities in a timely and professional manner.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in tax compliance.
Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax compliance or a related field.
Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tax software.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
