About the Role
Unspecified Employer is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant/Consultant to join our team in Johannesburg. As a senior accountant with extensive experience, you will be responsible for capturing and recording financial data, reconciliations, VAT management, payroll processing, debtors and creditors management, and month-end closing activities. You will also maintain strong relationships with clients, identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, and draft full IFRS & IFRS for SME financial statements.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately capture and record financial data from various sources (bank transactions, supplier invoices, etc)
- Reconcile bank and supplier accounts
- Prepare and submit VAT returns for clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
- Manage payroll operations for clients, including calculating salaries and deductions, and ensuring timely payments
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collections and payments
- Perform month-end closing activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and preparing financial statements
Requirements
- Grade 12 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting AND completed articles
- Fluent in Afrikaans
- Proven experience as a senior accountant in a practice setting
- Completed Articles
- In-depth knowledge of VAT regulations and accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Caseware, Pastel) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in FULL IFRS AFS drafting on CaseWare
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting AND completed articles
