About the Role
The Senior Fundraising and Partnerships Manager will be a key member of our Johannesburg office, working closely with regional and global teams to drive impact through strategic partnerships. With a strong track record in private, public, and corporate fundraising, we seek an exceptional individual to lead our fundraising efforts, cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, and contribute to the growth of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, establish, and nurture private, public, and corporate donor-based impact partnerships
- Draft clear and persuasive proposals, including grant prospecting and proposal development
- Conduct research on potential donors, drafting identifying letters and follow-up communications
- Manage relationships with existing donors, ensuring alignment between proposal narratives, activities, timelines, human resources, and financial allocations
- Develop and refine budgets in collaboration with Operations and Finance teams, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities
- Prepare results frameworks for project-specific Theories of Change, Log Frames, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning frameworks
Requirements
- At least 5 years experience in proposal development and grant writing across public, private, and corporate funding streams
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate interdisciplinary teams
- Solid understanding of donor requirements, compliance standards, and proposal formats
- Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration capability
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Honours degree in a relevant field (no specific major required)
- Strong strategic thinking with a results- and impact-driven approach
