About the Role
Eden, a renowned luxury hotel in George, is seeking passionate and driven Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie candidates to join their culinary team. As a key member of the kitchen staff, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food and service to discerning guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present food to 5-star standards, taking into account guest preferences and dietary requirements
- Assist in developing new dishes and menu concepts to support revenue growth opportunities
- Support the Sous Chef with tasks such as menu writing and trend research
- Maintain par stock levels, manage costing, conduct stock rotation, and participate in stock takes
- Supervise, train, and manage kitchen staff performance
- Ensure that all operating equipment is properly maintained and cared for
- Adhere to strict health, safety, and hygiene protocols, including cleanliness, recycling, pest control, and waste management
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months of formal chef training
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Demi Chef in a 4-star or 5-star hospitality environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly and team-oriented attitude
- Computer literacy on MS Office; experience with SAP is advantageous
