About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Retail Manager to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our store, including stock management, employee management, customer service, and cash management. We’re looking for someone with a proven track record of success in retail management and excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily store operations
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering and receiving stock
  • Train and develop employees to achieve sales targets and improve customer satisfaction
  • Develop and implement visual merchandising displays to enhance the shopping experience
  • Monitor cash handling and ensure the security of cash and credit card transactions

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in retail management or a related field
  • Prior knowledge and experience in managing inventory, staff, products, costs, and profitability of the store
  • Knowledge of stock management systems such as ERP, Meat Matrix, etc.
  • Understanding of FMCG environment and related legislation
  • Experience with managing perishable products with short shelf life

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Diploma/Degree in Retail or Business or related qualification will be advantageous
  • Certification in retail management or a related field is an asset
