Youll be joining a growing, multi-entity business operating in a high-volume payments environment. This role is perfect for someone strong on fundamentals, confident taking ownership, and motivated by making finance work smoothly behind the scenes, not just closing books.
Job Description:
This role is ideal for someone who understands accounting end to end, thrives in an operational setting, and takes pride in keeping things accurate, controlled, and running on time.
Youll be responsible for owning day-to-day financial operations across entities and currencies, supporting month-end close, reconciling complex payment flows, and partnering closely with operational and customer-facing teams. This is not a traditional back-office accounting role it sits right at the operational core of the business and plays a key role in enabling growth.
Youll work closely with the Financial Manager and wider teams to improve processes, strengthen controls, and ensure finance is an enabler rather than a bottleneck.
Your daily adventures include:
- Owning daily, weekly, and monthly accounting records across multiple entities.
- Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting smooth, predictable month-end closes.
- Managing end-to-end payment and receipt allocations within the accounting system.
- Running regular reconciliations and investigating discrepancies until fully resolved.
- Operating confidently in a high-volume, multi-currency transaction environment.
- Partnering with operations and customer-facing teams on finance-related queries.
- Providing clarity and insight into payment flows, allocations, and operational issues.
- Processing invoices and expenses with accurate coding and supporting documentation.
- Supporting audits through clean reconciliations, documentation, and strong control discipline.
- Working with the Financial Manager on finance improvement projects and process enhancements.
- Helping build finance processes that are scalable, auditable, and resilient as the business grows.
Requirements
What it takes to succeed:
- A recognised three-year finance qualification.
- 5+ years post-qualification experience in a high-volume finance environment.
- Exposure to multi-entity and multi-currency accounting.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large or complex datasets.
- Hands-on experience with modern, cloud-based accounting systems.
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to improve how things are done.
- Comfort working closely with non-finance teams in an operational setting.
