About Our Client
Our client is a well-established metals manufacturing company operating in Prospecton, Durban. The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Payroll Administrator who is an expert in Sage 300 Payroll. You will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance with all relevant labour laws, and supporting month-end financial reporting. The successful candidate will work onsite in Prospecton and will report to the Finance Manager / HR Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end payroll processing using Sage 300 (setup, maintenance, data capturing, adjustments)

  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation (PAYE, UIF, SDL, etc.) and internal policies

  • Reconciling payroll variances and liaising with HR regarding leave, overtime, deductions, benefits

  • Generating payroll reports and answering queries from employees and management

  • Month-end close support; working with finance to ensure payroll figures align with accounting records

  • Maintaining payroll records and files; ensuring confidentiality and accuracy

  • Implementing corrective actions for payroll problems; continuous improvement of payroll processes

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator in a manufacturing or metals environment

  • Sage 300 Payroll expert: strong hands-on experience, able to configure, manage, troubleshoot payroll in Sage 300

  • Solid knowledge of South African payroll legislation and labour law

  • Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines

  • Good communication skills able to interact with employees, management, external parties (auditors, etc.)

  • Reliability, integrity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Matric plus a relevant payroll / accounting / financial qualification or certification will be advantageous
