About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our team at The Vineyard Hotel, Oude Werf & Stellenbosch Hotels. As a key member of our culinary leadership, you will support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional hospitality and culinary excellence across all Food & Beverage and banqueting outlets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the kitchen team to ensure culinary service standards are consistently met.
- Assist with training and performance management for kitchen staff.
- Contribute to the planning and costing of seasonal menu offerings.
- Oversee all kitchen stations and preparation, ensuring upholding the highest levels of food safety, hygiene, and compliance with the Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
- Play a central role in enhancing the guest experience by ensuring personalized attention and memorable dining moments.
Requirements
- 4–5 years’ experience as a Senior Sous Chef within a busy 4- or 5-star establishment.
- Background in managing multiple outlets, including large conference or banqueting facilities.
- Leadership capability and team management experience with proficiency in kitchen and F&B technology (including MS 365).
- Clear understanding of food cost control, budgeting, procurement, and supplier management.
