About the Role
Join our team as a Project Manager in bridge construction projects, based in Johannesburg. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our bridge construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards. With 8 years of experience in bridge or major infrastructure projects, you will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, control, and completion of bridge construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and coordinate all phases of bridge construction projects.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Lead site teams including engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, drawings, specifications, and HSE standards.
- Monitor progress, productivity, costs, and cash flow; implement corrective actions where required.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including performance and payments.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and internal management.
- Approve method statements, work programs, and material submissions.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Prepare and submit progress reports and project documentation.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- 8 years experience in bridge or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of bridge construction methods, temporary works, and QA/QC procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and planning skills.
- Proficient in project management and scheduling tools.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (required).
Salary & Benefits
$6000 – $7000 USD per month plus 500 USD per month for daily expenses, accommodation, car and driver, life insurance, and medical aid. 2 flights per annum home for a 2-week break at a time.
