About the Role
iStaff (Pty) Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Winemaker to join our team in Stellenbosch. As an integral part of our winemaking operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality wines are produced while maintaining excellent record-keeping skills. With a minimum 5 years’ experience in winemaking, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team and contribute to the success of our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage wine samples for tastings, clients, tenders, and approvals
- Assist with wine blending and sensorial evaluation
- Set up and facilitate internal and client tastings
- Maintain accurate records, specifications, and technical documentation
- Support Quality Management Systems (QMS), GMP, and compliance requirements
- Ensure housekeeping, health, and safety standards are maintained
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Relevant degree or diploma in Winemaking
- Minimum 5 years’ winemaking experience in a similar environment
- Excellent wine tasting and record-keeping skills
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s licence
