About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will advise staff and clients on tax-related issues, research tax information, and manage the workflow to ensure quality delivery of work outputs for audits, income tax returns, provisional tax returns, IT14SDs, Tax Ombud complaints, objections, appeals, and Tax Exemption applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong academic qualifications in accounting or a relevant field.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the tax department employees
- Oversee the completion of Income Tax returns to ensure compliance and meeting of deadlines
- Manage the administration of provisional tax; meeting deadlines and the complete billing process
- Oversees the organization, retention, and compliance of all tax-related records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory adherence
- Assist and advise staff of matters relating to the completion of returns and tax administration
Requirements
- Grade 12 with accounting as a subject or other relevant qualification
- Experience in a tax environment
- Registered with SAIT
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle pressure and a busy workload
- Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act, Tax Administration Act, and VAT Act
- Experience with SARS dispute resolution process
Qualifications
- Grade 12 with accounting as a subject or other relevant qualification
- Tax or other relevant qualification
