About the Role
Farm Manager SA is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our agricultural operation, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various equipment, vehicles, and implements to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine servicing, repairs, and maintenance on tractors, bakkies, trucks, implements, and irrigation pumps.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults and perform corrective repairs.
- Ensure that all maintenance and repair work is completed timeously and documented.
- Keep accurate service and repair records for all equipment and vehicles.
- Manage and maintain workshop tools, equipment, and consumables.
- Assist in sourcing parts and liaising with suppliers for quotations and deliveries.
- Support field breakdowns and perform on-site repairs as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the workshop area at all times.
- Comply with all farm safety regulations and use PPE appropriately.
- Report repeated faults, equipment misuse, or negligence to management.
Requirements
- Qualified Diesel/Petrol Mechanic (Trade Test preferred)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an agricultural or workshop environment.
- Valid driver’s license (Code 8/10); Code 14 and PDP advantageous.
- Familiarity with farming implements and irrigation systems preferred.
