About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior Farm Manager to join our team at Mayfly Agri. As a key member of our farm management team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily farm operations, ensuring optimal crop yields, and maintaining high levels of equipment maintenance. Key Responsibilities

Maintain general presentability of the farm, ensuring overall neatness.
Handle all aspects of farm management independently.
Manage and maintain crops, including planting, spraying, nutrition, pruning, and harvesting.
Understand and interpret calibrations necessary in farming practices.
Manage farm employees who assist in the maintenance of infrastructure, equipment, and preparation.
Assist the management team with maintaining infrastructure.
Ensure proper and timely service and maintenance of equipment, buildings, irrigation systems, and other facilities.
Assist the General Manager in performing duties to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Control and manage security.
Perform other miscellaneous job duties as required and/or assigned.

Requirements

National Senior Certificate with a Diploma or Degree in Agriculture.
Demonstrated passion for farming and a strong work ethic.
Previous farm-related experience would be advantageous; however, training and development will be provided.
General technical capabilities for maintenance of equipment would be ideal.
Hands-on, while leading from the front.
Well-developed computer literacy and skills (Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn new programs.
Valid driver’s license.
