About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Chef d Partie to join our high-end farm-to-table restaurant in Pretoria East. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional dishes that showcase your creativity and attention to detail, while maintaining our commitment to sustainable and seasonal menus.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain control of stocks in area of responsibility
- Ensure health, hygiene, and safety requirements are met
- Control quality, quantity, and cost price of all dishes prepared in area of responsibility
- Keep the area of responsibility clean and tidy
- Inform Sous chef on ingredient orders and maintain par stock levels
- Accept and store food deliveries according to SOPs
- Handle and store food properly in line with HACCP requirements
- Ensure mise-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time
- Present dishes correctly, including portion sizes and garnishes
- Follow guidance of Executive or Sous chef and contribute to new presentation ideas
Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate
- Chef Certificate/Diploma
- Own transport with valid driver’s license
- Preferably 2-3 years previous experience as a Chef d Partie
- Stable employment background and commitment to long-term employment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to work in a team and maintain professional relationships across cultures and religions
Qualifications
- Completed Grade 12
- Completed Chef Certificate/Diploma
- Relevant work experience as a Chef d Partie
