Job Description

Hotel Manager Reporting to General Manager | Five-Star Property, Guernsey, British Channel Islands, UK A property with heritage dating to 1858. And an F&B operation ready for its next chapter. We’re looking for a Hotel Manager whose career has been shaped in F&B-led four and five-star establishments, someone who understands that exceptional dining drives reputation, loyalty, and revenue. You know how to set a clear F&B vision and, critically, how to build and lead the team that delivers it. This hotel group built its reputation on highly personalised, memorable experiences, not just for guests, but for the teams who deliver them. That philosophy runs through everything. The right candidate will instinctively understand this and know how to bring it to life operationally, day after day. The property sits at the heart of St Peter Port, overlooking the harbour with views across to Herm and Sark. Two restaurants, a well-established afternoon tea programme, and a discerning clientele. The Opportunity You’ll set the strategic direction for an F&B operation with genuine potential, then empower your F&B Manager and their teams to execute it. Whether that’s championing Guernsey’s exceptional local produce, elevating the guest dining experience, or creating destination moments that draw locals and visitors alike, your role is to define what excellence looks like and create the conditions for your people to achieve it. This is an ownership group that supports operators who think commercially and creatively. You’ll have the backing to make meaningful change, and the responsibility to develop the leaders beneath you who’ll deliver it on the floor. Beyond F&B, you’ll lead a 62-room operation with spa, pool, and conference facilities, ensuring the same attention to detail runs through every guest touchpoint. You’ll be visible, hands-on where it matters, and directly accountable for performance. What We’re Looking For A track record in senior operational roles within quality 4 or 5-star, F&B-led hotels Experience setting F&B strategy and leading department heads to deliver against it The ability to identify, develop, and retain talented F&B leaders Commercial acumen balanced with genuine hospitality instincts Someone who leads from the front but knows when to step back and let their team shine A leader who treats every guest interaction as an opportunity to create a personal, memorable moment The understanding that exceptional guest experiences start with how you treat your team The ability to embed a culture of anticipating and recognising individual guest preferences across all departments A genuine belief that hospitality is about human connection, not just service delivery The Practicalities This role comes with an 8-year Guernsey work permit and a pathway to UK settlement via a 3-year visa route leading to Indefinite Leave to Remain. Guernsey sits in the Channel Islands, closer to France than England, with more sunshine hours than the UK mainland and a pace of life that rewards those who value balance. As part of the Common Travel Area, movement between Guernsey, the UK, and Ireland requires no passport. Competitive salary plus monthly service charge. 20 days holiday rising with service. Meals on duty. Award-winning learning and development programmes. Enhanced family leave. Employee Assistance Programme. If you’ve built your career in quality establishments and you’re ready to put your name to something, we should talk.
