Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensuring all operational processes and procedures are strictly followed Identify the exact quality and specification of the commodity purchased Maintain good customer relations and ensure customer satisfaction Identify and report fraudulent transactions Reject nonmetallic items and inferior quality metals Ensure records are updated and reconciled accurately for all items purchased and dispatched Ensure Company policies and procedures & Health & Safety regulations are adhered to Lead and supervise a team in order to achieve operational and goal orientated requirements Ensure that assistants thoroughly inspect scrap to be purchased and display all metals openly for photographing Ensure that the requirements of the Second-hand Goods Act are complied with when buying scrap by accurately recording all information required under the Act Disciplinary action and daily management of staff. Plant and equipment are maintained as per the maintenance schedule. Ensures that tasks are delegated to the different staff members within the department. Ensure that employees are properly trained and licensed for the machinery/equipment that they operate. Ensure that all production staff members wear the correct and required PPE at all times. QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE: Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent. 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory position. A minimum of at least 5 years’ experience in a production industry. Computer literate – full Microsoft suite. Must be conversant with the Second-hand Goods Act. Good knowledge of H&S regulations. Scrap metal experience will be an advantage. QUALIFYING ATTRIBUTES: Able to liaise professionally with customers, suppliers and colleagues. Hard-working and self-motivated. Strong interpersonal skills. Time management and organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to work independently and within a team. Ability to motivate team. Good communication skills. Flexible and willing to work overtime.
