Health, Safety & Environmental Officer – Namibia

As a result of an awarded major EPCM project in Namibia, our client is seeking a motivated Health, Safety & Environmental Officer to join the on-site project team on a 6:2 roster.
This critical role will help enable the success of the project by providing HSE advice and ensuring compliance with client and company health, safety and environment standards.
About the Role
- Provide HSE advice and expertise to our client.
- Improve HSE performance, culture, and management.
- Conduct and support HSE audits, inspections, investigations, and training/awareness.
- Monitor work practices to ensure adherence to safety and environmental procedures and standards.
- Ensure all HSE processes and activities (JHAs, permits, etc.) comply with relevant HSE legislation and company standards.
- Provide hands-on support to implement HSE improvements, plans, or solutions.
- Maintain knowledge of contemporary HSE practices to recommend and implement effective HSE solutions.
- Conduct routine and ad-hoc analysis and investigations on HSE performance data to identify trends and areas of concern/risk at a Project or Site level. Propose and follow up on recommendations for action.
- About You
- Certificate IV qualification in OHS and/or Environmental or related area is essential; Diploma preferred.
- Applied First Aid Certificate is essential.
- Experience in a similar HSE Lead role preferably in the Resources industry.
- Well-established knowledge of site HSE policies and procedures, and extensive knowledge of HSE legislation and standards.
- The ability to accurately assemble and maintain documentation and quality records, and produce reports using the MS Office Suite.
- Well-developed communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to foster interpersonal relationships across all levels.
