Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health & Safety Officer to join our manufacturing group, managing Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance across multiple factories and offices. This is a hands-on role for an individual passionate about creating and maintaining a safe, compliant, and health-conscious workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and monitor Health, Safety & Environmental policies across all sites.
Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and compliance audits.
Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective actions.
Plan and facilitate monthly and quarterly Health & Safety meetings.
Conduct safety inductions, training, and emergency drills.
Oversee PPE compliance and equipment inspections.
Manage environmental compliance, including monthly hazardous waste reporting to the City of Cape Town.
Prepare monthly and quarterly safety performance reports.

Requirements

National Diploma in Safety Management / Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
SAMTRAC / NEBOSH certification (advantageous).
Minimum 35 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of OHSA, COID Act, environmental legislation, and hazardous waste management.
Strong communication, investigation, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work across multiple sites.
