About the Role

A manufacturer within the power distribution and electrical switchboard industry is seeking a Commercial Estimator to join their operations in Wadeville, Germiston. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical switchboards and power distribution boards, as well as engaging with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for electrical switchboards and power distribution boards
Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation to determine costings
Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information
Evaluate commercial aspects of tenders, ensuring profitability and risk mitigation
Work closely with engineering, production, and sales teams to align estimates with operational capabilities

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years experience in estimating within electric switchboard or power distribution board manufacturing
Proven commercial estimating experience (not purely quote processing)
Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle

Qualifications

Matric qualification (tertiary qualification advantageous but not mandatory)
