About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Head of Architecture with deep expertise in payment systems and retail transaction processing. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will manage a small, highly capable team of three architects while remaining actively involved in technical design and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Manage projects
Write reports
Lead meetings
Define and review architectural patterns
Guide implementation alongside development teams
Ensure all solutions meet stringent requirements for scalability, performance, and security

Requirements

Extensive experience in payment systems
Strong focus on retail transaction processing (essential)
Solid technical foundation, with background in software development and/or solution architecture highly advantageous
Proven ability to translate business requirements into modular, scalable, and secure technical solutions
Experience leading or mentoring technical teams

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or a related field preferred
Demonstrated experience within retail payments or transaction processing environments
Exposure to software development, testing practices, and enterprise architecture desirable
