Job Description

Established in 1943 and based in Durbanville – Cape Town, Kallos Group specializes in route to market activities. The company procures and distributes fresh fruit from growers to clients on a global scale. Most of their exports go to the critical markets in Africa, but they also distribute to Europe, Russia, Asia, Middle & Near East as well as selected Far East destinations. The above-mentioned position is currently available for an energetic person to join the company’s Commercial Department. The successful incumbent will provide a support service to the allocated Trading Desk(s) and execute administrative and logistical requirements needed to ensure timeous and accurate delivery of products to the client. Key Performance Areas: Arrange shipment of orders Generate purchase orders on the system as directed by the Traders Book and confirm shipments with the freight forwarder giving all the necessary detail Hand over necessary information to Finance for invoicing Continually follow up and communicate with clients, Traders and freight forwarders Initiate & coordinate claims process Requirements: Minimum Matric Relevant Logistics / Freight Forwarding degree / diploma will strengthen the application Previous experience (3-5 years) in logistics, sales administration, freight forwarding and claims procedures in the fruit export industry Excellent planning and organisational skills Above average computer skills (MS Office and shipping programs such as QX) Accuracy & attention to detail Numerical skills Excellent communication (English & Afrikaans) and interpersonal skills with people on all levels Ability to function well under pressure and prioritise tasks Experience in the development of policies and protocols Driver’s licence The company offers market related remuneration and benefits, based on the successful applicant’s experience and qualifications.
