About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Centurion: Tax Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. As a key member of our tax function, you will be responsible for pursuing tax refunds, managing tax audits, and preparing voluntary disclosures. You will also be accountable for in-country tax consultants performing these activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Pursue tax refunds
- Respond to and manage tax audits
- Prepare, plan and submit Voluntary disclosures
- Manage (and be accountable for) in country tax consultants performing above activities
- Assess reports received from consultants for risks identified
- Transfer pricing Agreements review
- Calculate income tax and deferred tax for accruals and provisional taxes
- Ensuring accuracy relevant tax accounts in trial balance
- Maintain group tracking schedules
- Prepare status reports for management and shareholders
- Status Reporting
- Maintain open item statuses accurately
- Assist wider finance team as required
- Keep abreast of tax regulatory developments in all relevant countries
- Consult on tax impact of proposed changes
Requirements
- 3 years post articles experience in tax, in a Multinational Group, or accounting and tax practice
- Completed articles, preferably in tax practice
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Detail driven and self-motivated
- Able to work independently and part of a team
- Good time management skills
- Able to work under pressure
Qualifications
- BCom
- Post graduate in tax (SAIT, SAIPA, ACCA, SAIBA, AGA(SA), CA (SA), or equivalent)
