Job Description

The Graphic Designer & Content Creator is responsible for producing visually compelling designs across digital and print platforms while supporting brand and marketing initiatives. The role also includes creating engaging multimedia content such as videos, social media assets, and basic copywriting to strengthen brand identity and audience engagement. This function includes but is not limited to: 1.1 Design & Branding 1.1.1 Develop high-quality designs for digital platforms (social media, web, email campaigns) and print materials (brochures, signage, posters, packaging). 1.1.2 Maintain brand consistency across all creative outputs. 1.1.3 Conceptualise and execute creative ideas for campaigns and internal communications. 1.2 Content Creation 1.2.1 Produce and edit short-form videos for internal campaigns, social media and promotional purposes. 1.2.2 Design and schedule social media content, including graphics, animations, and stories. 1.2.3 Write engaging captions and basic marketing copy when required. 1.3 Marketing Support 1.3.1 Assist in creating marketing materials for campaigns, events, and internal initiatives. 1.3.2 Collaborate with the Brand & Facilities Manager on creative strategies and brand positioning. 1.3.3 Contribute ideas for improving brand visibility and engagement. 1.4 Collaboration & Administration 1.4.1 Work closely with internal teams to understand design requirements and deliver on time. 1.4.2 Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met. 1.4.3 Stay updated on design trends, social media best practices, and emerging tools. 2. LOCATION Pomona, Johannesburg and such other locations or destinations as determined by the Employer from time to time. 3. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS 3.1 Reports to: Brand & Facilities Manager. 3.2 Manages: None. 4. SKILLS & REQUIRED COMPETENCIES 4.1 Excellent written and oral communication skills. 4.2 Friendly, outgoing and great interpersonal skills. 4.3 Strong proficiency in graphic design and marketing fundamentals. 4.4 Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). 4.5 Understanding of design principles, typography, and colour theory. 4.6 Familiarity with social media platforms and content strategies. 4.7 Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. 4.8 Video editing (Premiere Pro, After Effects or similar), preferred. 4.9 Photography and videography, either practical experience or a keen interest with basic understanding. 4.10 Motion graphics and animation skills. 4.11 Experience with digital marketing tools and analytics. 5 REQUIRED PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES 5.1 Eager to learn and grow within the role. 5.2 Hands-on problem solver with a proactive mindset. 5.3 Comfortable managing multiple tasks and prioritising effectively. 5.4 Creative thinker with a strong eye for detail. 5.5 Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently. 5.6 Collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving. 6 MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 6.1 Matric Certificate. 6.2 Diploma/Degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, or related field 6.3 Minimum of 2 years experience in graphic design and content creation 6.4 Exposure to both digital and print design environments.
