Job Description

The main purpose of the role: The Legal & Contracts Officer will support the Legal and Commercial teams by reviewing, administering, and monitoring construction-related contracts for renewable energy projects. The role focuses on contract compliance, cost control, and risk support across the construction lifecycle, ensuring contracts are aligned with South African legal requirements and internal governance standards. This is a hands-on role, working closely with project, construction, and finance teams. Responsibilities: Contract Review & Administration Cost & Commercial Support Compliance & Risk Support Project & Stakeholder Support Reporting & Documentation Requirements: LLB degree or Legal qualification (completed or near completion) Admitted attorney advantageous but not required Certificate or short course in construction or commercial law is advantageous 25 years experience in a legal, contracts, or commercial support role Exposure to construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects preferred Experience within renewable energy or power projects is advantageous Basic understanding of construction contracts and commercial terms Ability to track costs, variations, and contractual obligations Strong attention to detail and document management skills Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and contract management systems
