About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our team in George, responsible for ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts and maintaining accurate customer records.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect outstanding amounts on the debtors book
- Reconcile customer accounts as required
- Reconcile all control accounts
- Prepare and process credit and debit notes
- Prepare and post journals
- Conduct credit vetting in line with company policy
- Obtain and verify trade references
- Follow up on and resolve account queries
- Perform inter-branch reconciliations and confirmations
- Import debit order files
- Process new and cancelled debit orders daily
- Daily coding and printing of EFTs from the bank
- Perform monthly checks on returned debit orders
- Manage client portals, including loading of invoices
- Update and maintain accurate customer information (data clean-up)
- Provide regular feedback on overdue accounts
- Adhere to strict deadlines for month-end and monthly reporting
Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate or Diploma in Credit Management, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a Credit Management role
